And … we’re back! As expected, The Dark Knight Rises cruised into first place at the box office this weekend with relative ease, besting both new releases with a haul of $64 million, as we reported earlier today.
The Watch did not continue where the R-rated Ted left off, pulling in only $13 million in its debut, which was only good enough for third place.
Meanwhile, Step Up: Revolution fell slightly off the pace of its predecessor, Step Up 3D ($15.8 million opening weekend), snagging $11.8 million and fourth place. Moving from box office numbers to critical response, perhaps each film’s lackluster performance can be attributed to bad reviews.
The Watch is currently sitting at a paltry 15% Rotten over at Rotten Tomatoes, with Step Up: Revolution just barely beating it...
