The debate over which franchise is better, Star Wars or Star Trek, will live on long after we're all gone -- it's just one of those things that keeps on keeping on, especially now that each franchise is still going strong decades after they first launched.
But regardless of where your allegiance lies, there's no question that each franchise carries with it a fanbase that has no problem going above and beyond what your definition of "normal" is.
