The annual Fantastic Fest -- held in Austin, Texas -- gives genre fans an excuse to venture to the Texas capitol to gorge on challenging, stimulating (and often gory) cinematic offerings from the current kings of the medium.

Tim Burton’s Frankenweenie will have its world premiere at Fantastic Fest.
The screening will be held on Thursday, Sept. 20, serving as the Opening Night selection for this year’s event.
