Marvel Studios and Disney are moving full steam ahead when it comes to putting the pieces in place for Phase 2, including a new release date for The Avengers 2 (May 1, 2015) to go along with the already-announced Thor: The Dark World, Captain America: The Winter Soldier and Guardians of the Galaxy.
When it comes to that last one, Heat Vision reports today that James Gunn (Super, Slither) is now in talks to direct the film, proving once again that Marvel is in the game of taking risks and trusting below-the-radar talent when it comes to assigning directors for their monster comic book movies.
For example, Thor 2 will be directed by Alan Taylor (Game of Thrones), with Captain America 2 being helmed by Anthony and Joe Russo (Community).
