Olivier's tackling an abduction thrillerOlivier Megaton seems to be happy sticking with his action thriller niche for now, what with directing Transporter 3, Colombiana and now Taken 2.
He’s also just signed on to break away from the Luc Besson camp for Land Of The Living.
Despite working with other creative types, Megaton is remaining in similar territory, as the flick finds a young advertising executive abducted on the streets of Los Angeles.
But instead of simply becoming a victim, she manages to escape and starts tracking down the man who had intended to kill her.
Sean Gulette adapted the script from the book by Nicci Gerard and Sean French, who write under the name Nicci French.
It sounds as though it could tackle almost the same story as recent Amanda Seyfried thriller Gone, though hopefully it’ll be, you know, good.
Or at least watchable.
Megaton is looking to get to work on the new flick in January next year.
Meanwhile, he’s busy finishing off Taken 2, which finds Liam Neeson back dealing with nasty kidnappers once more.
It’ll arrive in cinemas on October 5.
