These are among the words of wisdom passed down to Superman by his father, Jor-El, in the first official trailer for Man of Steel.

It hit theaters around the nation this weekend prior to most screenings of The Dark Knight Rises and, while it doesn't give us any real look at Henry Cavill in the title role, it does tease the film's dark tones.
