Having made $75 Million already (with a $7 Million dollar budget), Magic Mike is one of the most profitable flicks of the year, and one of the sleeper hits of the summer.
And you know what that means: Sequel talk.
Star and narrative inspiration Channing Tatum says they’re already working on it.
Glamour Magazine asked the question about a ‘Magic Mike 2′, and Tatum’s response was: “We’re working on the concept now.
We want to flip the script and make it bigger.”
With the first flick having made back its money and then some, the likelihood of this happening is pretty high, though it will be harder to keep the budget down on the sequel (we’re guessing that both Tatum and director Steven Soderbergh have made a nice mint on the back end).
But if the hope is to go that much bigger, we’re curious what that means.
More strippers? Vegas?
If this is going to happen, expect Warner Brothers to get it together quickly, as Tatum is a hot potato right now (call him Channing Taters), with 21 Jump Street also looking to make a follow up, and Tatum just signed on to star and produce a bio-picture about Evel Knievel.
If it does happen, surely they’ll come up with a better title than Magic Mike 2.
What would you title the Magic Mike sequel?
