"You ever killed anyone? They cry, they plead, they call for their mothers.

I like to kill them softly, from a distance," so says Brad Pitt in the first footage for "Killing Them Softly." The crime flick from Andrew Dominik ("The Assassination of Jesse James by the Coward Robert Ford") tells the story of Jackie Cogan (Pitt), an enforcer hired to track down two crooks who robbed a mob-protected poker game.

("Softly" is based on the George V.

Higgins' novel, "Cogan's Trade.")Here, Moviefone is proud to debut the first "Killing Me Softly" trailer (along with our sister site Huffington Post Entertainment). The flick has already earned rave reviews after its Cannes Film Festival premiere, with the Hollywood Reporter calling it "a juicy, bloody, grimy and profane crime drama that amply satisfies as a deep-dish genre piece." There's certainly plenty of that in this clip, which features sawed-off shotguns, exploding cars and Pitt waxing poetic about our country ("I'm living in America, and in America you're on your own.) Also, keep an eye out for Ray Liotta and James Gandolfini, two actors who know a thing or two about grimy and profane crime dramas.Starring Pitt, Gandolfini, Liotta and Richard Jenkins, "Killing Them Softly" hits theaters on October 19.
