The Toronto International Film Festival announced their first round of flicks that they’ll be rolling out the red carpets for this September at the annual fest.
The 60-odd flicks that have been announced are the eye-catching, Hollywood-headlining, star-studded flicks that make up the Gala and Special Presentations programmes.
This year’s festival kicks off with Rian Johnson’s action-filled Looper starring Joseph Gordon-Levitt and Bruce Willis.
Several high-profile directors are heading to TIFF this year including Terrence Malick, Joss Whedon, Deepa Mehta, Joe Wright, David O.
Russell, Tom Tywker and the Wachowskis, and actor-directors Robert Redford, Billy Bob Thronton and Ben Affleck, just to skim the surface of the initial flicks that have been invited to make their world of North American premieres.
Along with these top-notch filmmakers, the speculation about which stars will be walking the red carpet in Toronto has begun.
Some early names mentioned include Bill Murray, Ryan Gosling, Keira Knightley, Ewan McGregor, Rachel McAdams, Bradley Cooper and Rachel Weisz.
As usual, the festival is expected to attract dozens of international stars as the remaining flicks are announced in the coming weeks.
