With names like Julia Roberts and Meryl Streep leading August: Osage County, the flick adaptation of Tracy Letts' Pulitzer Prize winning book and Tony award-winning play, the project is likely to have quite an audience.
The story follows three daughters who return home to be with their drug-addicted mother (Streep) after their alcoholic father disappears, and all sorts of family secrets are revealed.
Roberts is playing one of the daughters, and now Variety reports Ewan McGregor, fresh off Salmon Fishing in the Yemen, will play her estranged husband, a college professor who left her after falling for one of his students.
