Kristen Wiig may also join the comedyIt appears Cameron Diaz will be getting into devious plotting mode for a future comedy.
She’s now attached to star in revenge pic The Other Woman, which is also eyeing Kristen Wiig for one of the other leads.
Written by Melissa Stack, the script finds a woman (most likely Diaz) discovering that she’s actually the third person in a love triangle.
But instead of the usual recriminations, she decides to team up with the wronged wife to dish out a little vengeance on the cheating husband.
The Wrap’s story doesn’t specify either role, but we figure Wiig would make for a good partner-in-revenge for Diaz.
Described as in the vein of 1996’s The First Wives’ Club, which saw the likes of Bette Midler, Goldie Hawn and Diane Keaton getting their own back on philandering hubbies, the new flick is currently making its way through development and hunting down a director.
Diaz was last seen in What To Expect When You’re Expecting.
Next for her is Gambit (due November 21)and providing one of the voices in A Liar’s Autobiography.
She’s also finished work on Ridley Scott’s latest, The Counselor.
